Mission

Our mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit artifacts and archives relating to the history of Japanese Canadians from the 1870s through the present, and to communicate to all the Japanese Canadian experience and contribution as an integral part of Canada's heritage and multicultural society.

Family Photographs found in Pearson Airport

Two kind gentlemen by the names of John and Scott found around twenty black and white photographs scattered around a luggage conveyor on the morning of June 4th in Toronto’s Pearson Airport.  The pictures mainly consist of portraits of what appear to be the Miki family taken between 1942 and 1945 in Slocan, BC.  If you think these photographs belong to you please contact the JCNM at ajensen@nikkeiplace.org or you can contact Scott directly at middlesc@sympatico.ca.

We are pleased to welcome four summer students this year – generously funded by Canada Summer Jobs and Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions.
