The Japanese Canadian National Museum houses archival materials and artefacts relating to Japanese Canadian heritage. Its mandate is to promote a better understanding and appreciation of Japanese Canadian culture and hopes to do this by making its extensive collection of more than 3000 historical photographs, 1000 artefacts, 350 oral history recordings and 150 metres of archives and textual material accessible to the public.
By appointment, researchers can access the collection in the Museum’s wheelchair accessible Research Centre. As an alternative, Museum staff is happy to respond to long-distance research requests by e-mail, telephone, fax or mail.
